Funds manager GreenFort Capital has lodged plans to build a $100 million plus retirement community in Toowoomba.
GreenFort Capital previously has been involved with the development of five retirement villages throughout SouthEast Queensland but this project would be its debut project in the Toowoomba region.
The Brisbane-based company is planning a giant retirement village project comprising 422 dwellings on a 25ha site at Gowrie Birnam Road, Gowrie Junction.
The application lodged with Toowoomba Regional Council proposes the company will build 406 two-bedroom units and 16 three-bedroom units.
The development is scheduled to be built in 16 stages, with construction set to start in October 2026 and completed by July 2027.
Community facilities at the retirement village would include a two-storey clubhouse, a wellness centre, a swimming pool and a dedicated campervan and RV washdown area.
Plans for the country club reveal a 40-seat cinema, an indoor golf simulator, billiard room, lounge areas and a cafe.
The development plan allocates more than 25,000sqm of gardens.
