For the first time since 1997, The Empire is inviting Expressions of Interest for a new restaurant operator and preferred catering partner.
This opportunity will allow a new operator to create a landmark dining destination within The Empire precinct, home to Australia’s largest regional theatre. The venue welcomes over 130,000 patrons each year and hosts more than 500 performances and approximately 70 events annually.

Following its celebrated restoration and rebirth in the 1990s, The Empire remains one of Queensland’s most prestigious cultural institutions. It is known for its heritage architecture, modern facilities, and world-class performance spaces.
This appointment invites visionary operators to shape the future of food and hospitality at The Empire by combining local connection, creativity, and excellence to deliver an exceptional dining and event experience.
