What’s happening?

Creevey Horrell Lawyers has joined forces with Brisbane firm McGinness & Associates, strengthening its Crime and Misconduct division.

Highly regarded criminal lawyer Andrew McGinness has joined Creevey Horrell Lawyers as a Consultant. He brings more than 40 years of experience in criminal and quasi-criminal defence.

Creevey Horrell Principal Dan Creevey said the partnership marked a significant step for the firm.

“We are delighted that Andrew and his team are joining Creevey Horrell Lawyers in Brisbane,” Mr Creevey said.

Why it matters

The partnership strengthens Creevey Horrell’s ability to deal with criminal and regulatory prosecutions across Queensland.

Mr Creevey said the firm is determined to offer a point of difference in criminal justice matters.

“At Creevey Horrell, we can help clients across every aspect of criminal and regulatory prosecutions, including matters which are still at an investigatory stage, and we have an enviable track record of achieving successful results,” he said.

Local impact

The expanded Crime and Misconduct division supports clients in Toowoomba and regional Queensland, supported by offices in Toowoomba, Brisbane, Roma, Chinchilla and Townsville.

The firm also services clients further west.

“We’ve got an office in Townsville, and we go out as far as Mount Isa,” Mr McGinness said.

“We’re regionally focused, not city-only.”

  • More than 40 years’ experience is being added through Andrew McGinness’s background in criminal and quasi criminal defence.

  • Five dedicated lawyers currently work in Creevey Horrell’s Crime and Misconduct section.

  • Five Queensland offices allow the firm to represent clients across regional and metropolitan areas.

Mr Creevey said Andrew McGinness is widely respected within the legal profession.

“Andrew has extensive experience representing clients charged with everything from traffic matters to murder,” he said.

“He is well-respected in the legal fraternity, and we look forward to gaining his wealth of knowledge.”

The Crime and Misconduct team handles drug and traffic offences, domestic violence and protection orders, weapons licensing issues, workplace health and safety prosecutions, and high-profile criminal matters.

Creevey Horrell Lawyers is a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial, property, agribusiness, litigation and dispute resolution.

It is also one of the only commercial firms of its size in Queensland to offer personal legal services, including crime, family law, personal injury, and wills and estates.

What to look for next?

The firm expects its strengthened Crime and Misconduct division to continue supporting clients across Queensland, with a strong regional focus.

“One of the big attractions is our regional footprint, with Brisbane-based expertise, we can service all of Queensland,” Mr McGinness said.

“I was born out in Winton, and my interest in the western counties keeps growing.”
