What’s happening

Construction has officially begun on Ingenia Lifestyle Darlingview, a new over-50s community on the Darling Downs.

A sod turning ceremony held in Highfields marked the start of construction on the project.

The development will offer secure landscaped streets and a connected lifestyle for future residents. Plans include two central clubhouses with resort-style amenities such as swimming pools, sauna, cinema, library, function spaces and a golf simulator.

The masterplan anticipates residents will also have access to pickleball courts, a bowling green and a gymnasium. Additional facilities include a community garden and greenhouse, caravan storage facilities and a community bus.

Highfields sits north of Toowoomba and continues to grow as a regional hub with green spaces and expanding residential developments.

The project follows the success of the award-winning Ingenia Lifestyle Seachange Toowoomba community.

Why it matters

Ingenia Lifestyle Darlingview builds on the model developed at Ingenia Lifestyle Seachange Toowoomba.

That community has been recognised for its premium facilities, strong resident connection and approach to lifestyle living.

Ingenia Communities says the new development reflects growing demand for lifestyle communities across the region.

Local impact

The project will introduce a large lifestyle community designed for residents aged over 50 in Highfields.

Shared amenities and facilities aim to encourage connection, social activity and wellbeing among residents.

By the numbers

  • More than 560 homes are planned for Ingenia Lifestyle Darlingview, making it the largest land lease community in the region.

  • Two central clubhouses are planned within the community, designed to provide shared resort-style facilities and gathering spaces.

  • 20 kilometres north of Toowoomba CBD is the location of Highfields, placing the development within close reach of the regional city.

Zoom in

Adam Forrester, Head of Development QLD at Ingenia Communities, said the project marks an important milestone.

“Today marks an exciting milestone for Ingenia Lifestyle Darlingview,” he said.

“Not only is this community thoughtfully designed to offer a modern, connected lifestyle for over 50s, it is also set to become the largest over-50s community in Ingenia’s Queensland lifestyle portfolio – a reflection of both the scale of the vision and the strong demand we’re seeing in the region.

“With resort-style facilities and landscaped streetscapes, Darlingview has been designed to encourage connection, wellness and relaxation, and we’re thrilled to bring this vision to life in Highfields.

“Seachange Toowoomba has shown us just how strongly the region responds to high-quality lifestyle resorts. Ingenia Lifestyle Darlingview will build on that momentum, delivering even more choice, more amenities, and more opportunities for residents to live the life they want to live.”
