What’s Happening?
Community groups across Toowoomba, the South Burnett, Cherbourg and surrounding regions can apply for the latest Tarong Community Partnership Fund.
The fund supports practical and inclusive community-led projects. These projects should deliver lasting benefits to communities connected to Stanwell’s operations and projects.
Why It Matters
The fund gives eligible community organisations an opportunity to secure support for projects that address local needs.
Stanwell General Manager, Southern Generation Mick Joy said local organisations understand what can make a difference in their communities.
“We know local community organisations understand their communities best and often have some fantastic projects that can make a lasting difference to their towns and regions,” Mr Joy said. “The Tarong Community Partnership Fund gives us an opportunity to support those projects and help local groups deliver projects that benefit the people who live, work and connect across these regions.”
Local Impact
Toowoomba organisations are among the community groups eligible to apply in the latest funding round.
In addition, Stanwell’s local stakeholder engagement team can help groups understand the fund and discuss project ideas. The team can also guide applicants through the process.

By The Numbers
- $250,000 went towards community groups, projects and initiatives during 2025–26.
- 10 community groups, projects and initiatives received support across the South Burnett, Cherbourg and Toowoomba regions during that period.
- 25 October 2026 is the closing date for applications in the latest funding round.
Zoom In
The latest round follows support for four community groups earlier this year.
For example, successful projects included medical equipment for Kingaroy Hospital and a back-up power generator for Blackbutt RSL Sub-Branch. Funding also supported sporting facility upgrades in Wooroolin and Kingaroy.

The Tarong Community Partnership Fund supports communities connected to Stanwell’s operations and projects.
Through the fund, the Tarong power stations and Meandu Mine support community-led projects across the region.
