What’s Happening?

Some of Australia’s leading saddle bronc riders will face American competitors at the Cinch International Australian Bronc Match in Warwick on Saturday, 24 October 2026.

The competition forms part of the Warwick Rodeo and Gold Cup Campdraft. It will bring international talent to Queensland’s Southern Downs for a high-stakes showdown.

Why It Matters

The contest gives Australian riders a chance to test their skills against overseas talent while competing for major prizes.

In addition to the prize money, the winner will take home a custom Australian fender saddle made by Troy Welsh.

The international field also brings another competitive element to the Warwick rodeo program, with riders from both countries taking part.

Local Impact

Riders from several Queensland communities will compete at Warwick, highlighting the state’s regional rodeo talent.

As a result, regional competitors will share the arena with leading national and international riders in one of the event’s major contests.

By The Numbers

  • 4 of Australia’s top 5: Riders in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association (APRA) saddle bronc standings will compete.
  • 3 American challengers: US riders will join the international competition.
  • More than $50,000: Total prize money on offer, including $20,000 for first place.

Zoom In

The American competitors include Shorty Garrett from South Dakota, Gus Gaillard from Texas and Zac Dallas from New Mexico.

Cash Wilson won the 2024 Australian Bronc Match in Scone. Meanwhile, Brody Wells claimed the 2025 title in Warwick with a score of 89.5 points.

Beyond the winner’s prize, second place will receive $10,000, while third place carries $5,000.

Zoom Out

The Warwick Rodeo and Gold Cup Campdraft provides the setting for this international contest, bringing together leading saddle bronc talent.

American riders have claimed the previous two titles, adding another storyline to this year’s competition.

With both countries competing again, the Australian Bronc Match could produce a third consecutive US victory or a change in the winning nation.

What To Look For Next?

The Cinch International Australian Bronc Match will take place on Saturday, 24 October 2026, at Warwick Showgrounds, Kingsford Street, Warwick.

Organisers expect the competition to begin at approximately 6 pm, although they have yet to confirm the start time.
