What’s Happening?
Toowoomba students will present their project ideas at an advanced manufacturing showcase on Monday, 9 November 2026.
The event will take place at Toowoomba State High School, running from 10 am to 1 pm. It forms part of Queensland’s STEM Advanced Manufacturing Future Skills School Program.
After completing the program across two terms, students will share their work on manufacturing industry challenges. Their projects explore potential solutions developed through activities involving industry partners.
Why It Matters
The program introduces primary and secondary students to Queensland’s advanced manufacturing industry and the careers available within it.
Students learn about local manufacturing companies while developing skills and exploring problems faced by the industry.
In addition, the initiative uses 3D design and printing to introduce students to design thinking.
Local Impact
At the Toowoomba showcase, students will present their chosen manufacturing problems and proposed solutions to an industry panel.
Senior secondary students will also have the opportunity to pitch their projects to a ‘shark tank’ panel.
These presentations will allow participants to share what they have learned during the program.
By The Numbers
- $7,500: Value of the learning package provided to participating schools.
