This production continues a tradition of creative excellence at The Empire.

The previous success of Cinderella highlighted how Toowoomba’s arts scene thrives on strong community involvement and collaboration with local businesses.

Local Impact

The Empire Theatre’s General Manager, Giuliana Bonel, highlighted the significance of the production.

“David has extensive international experience, and he will bring fresh energy and depth to the production. At its heart, Come From Away is a beautiful story about connection… It captures the spirit of kindness and community that blossomed under the most challenging of circumstances.”

She also emphasised the opportunity to unite the local community again, saying, “As we prepare to deliver this inspirational production, we are eager to create more opportunities for businesses to come forward and support the arts.”

What to look for next

Auditions for Come From Away will soon be held, with Wynen seeking “storytellers for this important show.”

His focus will be on finding individuals who can master acting, movement, and multiple accents to bring authenticity to the performance.
