Cash payouts for Toowoomba artists

Art Gallery Call Out

Calling all artists … Toowoomba Regional Council is wanting to give you a share of $35,000.

The council is seeking expressions of interest through the Regional Arts Development Fund for arts, culture and heritage projects across the Toowoomba region.

The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland, and the council.

A total of $35,000 is available to help regional artists with their next project.

Queensland Minister for Education and the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said the Regional Arts Development Fund had an impressive track record of supporting local arts and cultural programs across Queensland communities.

“Each year, RADF programs reach more than one million people across Queensland, securing local arts experiences and cultural tourism opportunities in regional areas, as well as supporting local artists in the lead up to Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games,’’ Mr Langbroek said.

“For 34 years, Arts Queensland has partnered with regional councils to co-invest in local arts initiatives that generate jobs, community engagement and help boost local economies.”

Councillor Melissa Taylor said Council was ‘casting’ a wide net in a bid to identify organisations or individuals who could benefit from funding.

“RADF recognises the important role the arts play within our community,” Cr Taylor said.

“This valuable program allows Council to invest in and promote our regional arts and culture.

“RADF funding allows us to help residents take their passion to the next level.

“It also allows local communities to identify and celebrate what makes them unique.”

Applications can be made by individual artists, producers, businesses, registered not-for-profit organisations, groups and collectives.

“I encourage anyone who thinks they may be eligible to have a look at the guidelines and contact us if they need any points clarified,” Cr Taylor said.
