Toowoomba Regional Council is closing the city’s Table Top Mountain Walk from early June until August 2024 to conduct landslip remediation works.

The closure will also affect ancillary access walks including Road Reserve Trail and Stevenson Street Trail.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald said the remediation works along Table Top Drive were part of the 2022 Flood Recovery Program.

“Closing the walking trails is the safest option while the works are completed, as the road closure required for the works along the narrow Table Top Drive, could delay emergency access if required,” Mr McDonald said.

“These landslip remediation works are part of several landslips being worked on across our region, repairing damage from the 2022 flood events.

“Works will be completed at two locations along Table Top Drive addressing two landslip sites affecting the road.”
