Warrego Water Services and Grundfos welcomed customers to an open day in Toowoomba on Wednesday, 29 July 2026. The event at 321 Taylor Street showcased the business’s pump and irrigation services. Customers received practical advice, viewed product displays and spoke directly with industry specialists.
A new Grundfos selection display grouped pumps according to their intended use. Staff could then ask several simple questions before recommending a suitable product. The event also featured a coffee cart throughout the day and Shannon’s Hot Chips from 10 am. A free barbecue ran from 3 pm to 6 pm.
Visitors could access pallet-buy deals and up to $50 cashback on selected Grundfos pressure pumps. Games, merchandise and door prizes were also available.

Grundfos representative Scott Quane said quality products needed reliable local advice and support.
“Grundfos is the largest pump manufacturer in the world,” Mr Quane said. “We produce innovative, reliable and energy-efficient products. However, we are only as good as the support we give the local community.”
He said the company’s relationship with Warrego Water Services brought global products and local knowledge together.
“We showcased some of our great products today, along with the new display and selection module inside,” he said. “The pumps are arranged by application, helping customers find the right product for the right job and price.”
Grundfos household pumps generally start near $600 and can cost more than $1,000. Mr Quane said customers should consider their lifespan and daily role when comparing prices.
“When you consider how many years these pumps last, they are economical,” he said. “They perform critical work every day. There is an upfront investment, but it is something you live with and use daily.”
Local Impact
Recently retired co-owner Geoffrey Cole spent 31 years selling pumps and irrigation equipment in Toowoomba.
He said the open day helped show passing motorists what Warrego Water Services offered beyond its roadside signage.
“The event gives us exposure to the traffic travelling along Taylor Street,” Mr Cole said. “Many people probably drive past without knowing exactly what we do. We sell pumps and irrigation equipment, but there is much more here than the shed sign suggests.”
Mr Cole said direct advice and personal service remained central to the local business.
“The most important thing is getting the right advice,” he said. “Some other outlets cannot offer the same individual service. We provide that one-on-one support very well.”
He said the business also carried quality equipment for household, agricultural and irrigation needs.
“We have a broad product range and aim to match every item with its application,” he said. “Customers should receive the right product at the right price for their job.”

Low household water pressure remains one of the most common problems raised by Warrego Water Services customers.
“A lot of people come to us because their homes lack water pressure,” Mr Cole said. “They may have an old pump or need pressure boosting. Domestic pressure pumps form a large part of our retail market.”
The open day featured the Grundfos SCALA2 3-45, released about four months before the event.
The model operates at roughly 45 decibels. Mr Quane compared this noise level with a good-quality dishwasher.
Its water-cooled motor helps limit operating noise. The pump also changes speed as more taps open, maintaining steady pressure as demand rises.
The unit delivers about 350 kilopascals and supplies roughly 3,000 litres each hour. This equals approximately 50 litres per minute.
For comparison, an outdoor tap can use about 12 litres each minute. A modern shower generally uses about nine litres each minute.
The pump can serve a three-to-four-bedroom house with two bathrooms. It suits both single-storey and double-storey homes.
Mr Quane said customers wanted enough pressure without excessive noise or energy use.
“We have quiet pumps that will not wake the neighbours, and they are energy efficient,” he said. “Power prices affect every household, but people still want enough pressure for their daily needs.”
He said reliable water pressure could make a clear difference to everyday routines.
“The main thing I want from my pump at home is enough pressure for a great shower,” he said. “If you do not have a great shower in the morning, how will you face the day?”

Mr Cole has worked with Grundfos products since 1985. He described the company as a premium supplier with a reliable product range.
“The full Grundfos range is available here, supported by a new point-of-sale display,” he said. “It makes choosing a pump less confusing. After two or three simple questions, we can solve most of the customer’s problem.”
Mr Cole recently retired after 31 years with the Toowoomba business. New partners have since taken over its operations.
“The new partners will take the business to another level, which is very good to see,” he said. “Grundfos remains at the premium end of the pump market. Its pumps are reliable, and I have always been happy to sell them.”
Mr Quane said the partnership would also support younger workers entering the water industry.
“Global products need strong local support,” he said. “The team here is investing in young people and giving them experience across several applications. They are also receiving valuable training, which will help maintain high standards among future water professionals.”

Warrego Water Services’ new partners will continue developing the business following Mr Cole’s retirement.
Customers can use the new in-store display to compare Grundfos pumps according to their property and water requirements. Ongoing training will also give younger staff practical experience across household, irrigation and other water applications.
Mr Quane summed up the relationship simply: “If you need a water pump, you come here.”
