What’s happening?
Media accreditation is now officially open for the Gympie Music Muster 2025, scheduled from 28 to 31 August. Media professionals can now apply to cover the four-day event through the official form.
Accredited media personnel will gain access to the festival only on the days they are working. According to the announcement, “This accreditation will allow you access to the festival on the days you will be working as professional media personnel, it is not a free pass to the festival.”
Why it matters
The Gympie Music Muster is one of Australia’s most iconic country music festivals, attracting thousands of visitors and showcasing a mix of emerging talent and legendary performers. Providing media coverage not only promotes the artists and their stories but also boosts regional tourism and supports Queensland’s cultural economy.
Local Impact
Held in the Amamoor Creek State Forest, just outside Gympie, the festival injects significant economic value into the local community through tourism, hospitality, and artist exposure. Each year, it also supports local charities and volunteers.
By the Numbers
-
Over 100 artists and bands are expected to perform over the four days.
-
Media personnel can list up to four artists in their interview request – though “please list more if you wish and all requests will be considered.”
-
Applications close at 6pm AEST on 30 May, with successful applicants notified by 30 June.
Zoom In
While accreditation grants media access to the festival grounds, it does not include backstage or stage access. “If this is required, this will need to be arranged on a case-by-case basis with the festival publicist, Bec Gracie, and the Gympie Music Muster team,” the organisers clarified.
The application process remains selective. “Accreditation approval is at the discretion of the festival organisers and accreditation in previous years does not guarantee accreditation in 2025,” the statement added.
Zoom Out
The Muster continues to attract national attention, drawing media, fans, and artists from across the country. It’s more than just music – it’s a celebration of community, culture, and the great Aussie outdoors. Media coverage plays a vital role in sharing that story far and wide.
What to look for next?
Expect confirmation emails to reach approved applicants by 30 June. In mid-August, confirmed artist interview schedules will be released. If you’re planning to apply, submit your form well before the 30 May deadline: Access the form here.
