A former council nursery at Middle Ridge is set to become a new housing estate.
Ray White Special Projects has been enlisted by Toowoomba Regional Council to find a buyer for the council’s former nursery at 306 Ramsay Street, Middle Ridge.
The 2.05-hectare site is earmarked for low to medium residential development and the council is expecting the buyer will develop a minimum of 46 new homes.
Councillor Edwina Farquhar said Ray White Special Projects would lead a two-stage Expression of Interest (EOI) and tender process for the site.
The first round for Expressions of Interest closes on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Cr Farquhar said the council expected the marketing campaign would attract significant interest from prospective buyers.
“The site adjoins an existing park on the eastern boundary, is level and connected to all urban infrastructure with two road access points,’’ she said.
“Council is seeking a low to medium density residential outcome that delivers dynamic, good-quality living opportunities and supports a well-designed neighbourhood feel.”
The two-stage EOI and tender will require potential buyers to submit offers along with a concept plan for the site.
Cr Farquhar said the council would evaluate any offers received “on more than price alone”.
“We are particularly interested to see future intent from developers and/or investors based around design outcomes, concept plans, financial capability, innovation and alignment with the Planning Scheme,’’ she said.
“We are keen to see a more beneficial use of this site in a highly desirable part of the city.”
