National and International property investors will be competing to snap up two large slices of land close to Wellcamp Airport.

A long-term farming family is selling the two parcels of land, which sit on either side of the Toowoomba Bypass.  Agents Dan Dwan and Mike Turley of Colliers Toowoomba are handling the sale through an Expression of Interest campaign.

Mr Turley said it was likely the two parcels would attract separate buyers because of the different zonings.

The smaller site, totalling 9.08 hectares, is zoned for “Medium Impact Industry”. Mr Turley said the site could be used for a wide range of industrial purposes, including manufacturing and transport.

The second site, measuring 95 hectares, was currently zoned for “rural” uses.

Mr Turley said the smaller property would appeal to large companies looking to expand their operations to a new hub with strong transportation links.

“The second property will probably appeal to somebody who is looking for a buy-and-hold opportunity and will probably use it for cropping purposes until the land around it is further developed,’’ he said.

Mr Turley said land ownership in the Wellcamp area is dominated by three major players – FKG Group, the Wagner family and InterlinkSQ – so the latest land offering created a significant opportunity for companies wanting to expand into the region.

The Expressions of Interest campaign is set to close on June 6 at 10 am.
