What’s happening?

Christmas is fast approaching, and Grand Central has announced extended trading hours to help customers tackle their last-minute Christmas shopping.

The special hours begin today, Wednesday, 18 December 2024 and continue through to Tuesday, 24 December 2024, ensuring ample time for residents to shop for gifts, groceries, and festive essentials.

Why it matters?

Extended hours aim to alleviate the pressure of holiday shopping, giving Toowoomba residents flexibility during the busiest time of the year.

By staying open longer, Grand Central hopes to ease the stress of finding the perfect gift or preparing for festive gatherings.

Centre Manager Tracey Ford shared, “Our extended Christmas shopping trade hours give our community more time to shop for those last-minute gifts – or for those unexpected extra guests at their upcoming Christmas events. By opening our doors for longer in December, we hope to ease the stress of Christmas shopping throughout the region.”

Local Impact

Grand Central’s extended hours are a practical solution for the community, ensuring more opportunities to support local retailers and complete their shopping lists.

The centre is also encouraging customers to use their fresh food retailers’ pre-booking services for stress-free menu preparations.

By the Numbers:

  • 7 days of extended hours leading up to Christmas Day, offering a mix of early and late closing times.
  • Centre opens from 9am to 9pm on three key shopping days: 19, 20, and 23 December.
  • For post-Christmas sales, Grand Central will open on Boxing Day, 26 December, from 9am to 6pm, and on New Year’s Day, 1 January 2025, from 10am to 4pm.
