What’s happening?
The Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority has launched a 100-Day Review public submissions portal, inviting community, business, and industry feedback on the planning of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games infrastructure.
Submissions can now be made via the newly launched website, with the consultation period open until 10 January 2025.
The Authority, tasked with evaluating Games-related infrastructure projects, aims to incorporate public perspectives alongside expert advice and targeted stakeholder consultations to shape its final recommendations.
Why it matters?
This review represents a pivotal step in aligning infrastructure planning for the Games with Queensland’s long-term development goals.
As Chairman Stephen Conry highlighted, “Hosting the Games is a privilege that will define and promote Brisbane, Queensland, and Australia for decades to come.”
The process is geared toward ensuring key infrastructure is “built in the right place” to deliver social, economic, and environmental benefits that will endure beyond 2032.
Local Impact
The review will focus on identifying necessary infrastructure while balancing demand, affordability, deliverability, and overall impact.
Communities across Queensland have a unique opportunity to influence projects that will directly affect transport, venues, and connectivity.
David Hourigan, Interim CEO of the Authority, emphasised, “The review is being informed by the public submission process… and we are looking forward to receiving submissions from all across Queensland.”

“The review will identify the infrastructure required to fulfill the Games’ vision while aligning with long-term planning for our growing city and state,” Mr Conry stated.
