What’s Happening?
Toowoomba’s Paw Parade returns on Sunday 4 October 2026, bringing costumed dogs and their owners back to Queens Park. The event runs from 8.30am to 12pm at Lindsay Street Oval, during the Carnival of Flowers’ final weekend. Hundreds of dogs are expected to take part, with flower-inspired outfits and pet-owner lookalikes among the prize categories.

Toowoomba Regional Council Tourism portfolio spokesperson Councillor James O’Shea said Paw Parade had quickly become a Carnival favourite.
“Last year’s Paw Parade exceeded all expectations, transforming Queens Park into a vibrant celebration of community and canine charm. Thousands gathered as dogs in delightful costumes stole the show, with families laughing and enjoying a joyful, shared experience. Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is all about creating memorable experiences, and Paw Parade captures that perfectly. It’s fun, inclusive, family-friendly and brings so much energy to the city,” he said.
Local Impact
Free spectator admission gives Toowoomba families a chance to enjoy the morning without paying an entry fee. Greyhound Australia supports the event, which returns following strong community backing after last year’s debut.

- Dog owners pay $15 per dog, per category, to enter their pets in the Paw Parade.
- Each dog can enter up to two novelty categories, choosing from four prize categories offered at the parade.
