What’s happening?
Rapid Relief Team volunteers from Ipswich and Toowoomba supported RideWest 2026 during its early stages.
The riders were cycling from Brisbane to Longreach to raise funds for regional mental health support.
Volunteers helped fuel cyclists with meals and encouragement along the route.
They also helped keep spirits high as riders pushed through the long Queensland ride.
RideWest supports the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia’s Wellbeing Out West program.
RideWest organisers thanked Rapid Relief Team for its hospitality, smiles and support.
Why it matters?
RideWest helps raise funds for mental health support in regional Queensland.
That support is delivered through the Royal Flying Doctor Service’s Wellbeing Out West program.
Rapid Relief Team Local Team Leader George Millar said the cause was worth backing.
“RideWest is a wonderful cause, which for the past 16 years has raised more than $2,600,000 for the Royal Flying Doctors to deliver their Wellbeing Out West program,” said George.
“RRT is 100 per cent supportive of the RideWest mission to ensure mental health support reaches the regions, and we are honoured to do our bit to help them reach their goals.”

Local Impact
The effort connected Ipswich and Toowoomba volunteers with a major Queensland fundraising ride.
Their meal support helped riders stay fed during the demanding early stages.
It also showed how local volunteers can support regional health causes beyond their own communities.
For riders, that support added comfort, care and encouragement on the road.
