Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) issued a recall for Hershey’s Caramel Syrup 623g, a popular dessert product, owing to the discovery of an undeclared allergen. The product, widely available at Woolworths, Coles, and IGA stores in NSW and QLD, as well as SPAR stores in QLD, has been flagged for containing milk that has not been disclosed on the packaging.
Warnings and Recommendations
FSANZ warns that individuals with a milk allergy or intolerance may experience adverse reactions if they consume the product. As a precautionary measure, consumers falling into this category are strongly advised against consuming the syrup.
The Food Safety Authority recommends returning the product to the place of purchase to receive a full refund.
