What’s happening?
Toowoomba Regional Council will soon begin a new round of road resurfacing works across several suburbs.
The program forms part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to maintaining safe and reliable local roads.
Works will be delivered by RPQ Spray Seal on behalf of the Council. Residents in affected streets will receive notification letters outlining approximate timing.
Construction and Maintenance portfolio spokesperson Councillor Carol Taylor said the upgrades were a key part of Council’s maintenance strategy.
“These resurfacing works are a key part of Council’s proactive maintenance program and help ensure our roads remain safe, durable and fit for purpose for residents, businesses and visitors,” Cr Taylor said.
Local impact
Residents and businesses in East Toowoomba, South Toowoomba and Harristown should expect temporary traffic adjustments.
Partial road closures and loose stone may occur for short periods. Property access will be maintained wherever possible.
Council has thanked residents and businesses for their cooperation ahead of the works.
Why it matters
Resurfacing extends the life of existing road surfaces and reduces the need for larger reconstruction projects later.
Cr Taylor acknowledged there may be a temporary inconvenience.
“We appreciate that this type of work can cause some short-term inconvenience, and we thank the community for their patience while these essential upgrades are carried out.”
Maintaining road quality supports safer travel for residents, businesses and visitors across the region.

Council and its contractor will work closely with the community to reduce disruption.
“To allow the works to be completed safely and efficiently, residents and businesses are asked not to park vehicles within the road reserve during scheduled works. Vehicles should be parked as far away from the road as possible to reduce the risk of spray drift.
“Every effort will be made to maintain property access during the works; however, partial road closures and limited access may occur for short periods. Loose stone can also be expected following resurfacing until the new surface has had sufficient time to cure.
“We encourage residents to plan ahead during the scheduled dates and follow any on-site traffic directions,” she said.
