What’s happening?
RWC Toowoomba is supporting the Rotary Club of Toowoomba Metropolitan as it launches its 2025 to 2026 club project.
The project is being delivered through a limited Art Union and focuses on raising funds to purchase life-saving heart equipment for the local community.
RWC Toowoomba Principal and Owner Paul Schmidt-Lee shared the project with local partners, highlighting both his Rotary involvement and the personal reason behind the cause.
“In addition to being a Partner of the Toowoomba Chamber, I am also a proud member of the Toowoomba Metropolitan Rotary Club,” Mr Schmidt-Lee said.
“We have recently launched our club project for 2025 and 2026.”
Why it matters
The project aims to improve access to Automated External Defibrillators, known as AEDs, across Toowoomba and surrounding areas.
Sudden cardiac events claim many lives each year, often before emergency services can arrive.
Having an AED close by can significantly improve survival outcomes during a cardiac emergency.
“Having a family member with heart issues, this project is close to my heart,” Mr Schmidt-Lee said.
“As such I wanted to share it with you.”
Local impact
Funds raised through the Art Union will go directly towards purchasing and installing AEDs in key community locations.
These devices are intended to be accessible to the public, giving locals the chance to act quickly during an emergency.
The project is designed to benefit the wider Toowoomba community and nearby areas, where fast access to medical equipment can save lives.
