What’s happening?
The wildly popular cabaret Stages of Dating is back in Toowoomba for a limited two-night season on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 April at The Empire Church Theatre. Following a sold-out run in 2023, the show dives headfirst into the chaos, comedy, and cringe-worthy charm of modern dating.
Led by dynamic duo Anna Wilshire and Cherie Vera, and backed by Musical Director Melissa Buchholz, the production promises powerhouse vocals, bold storytelling, and laugh-out-loud dating disasters. Directed by Alison Vallette, the show blends hit songs with real-life online dating nightmares, from ghosting and catfishing to dodgy bios and disastrous first dates.
Why it matters
In an age of endless swiping and digital courtship, Stages of Dating resonates with anyone navigating the wild world of online relationships. It offers a hilarious, heartfelt, and sometimes sobering look at what it means to find love—or at least a half-decent conversation—on today’s dating apps.
“Expect outrageous anecdotes, side-splitting comedy, and those all-too-relatable moments that will make you laugh, cringe, and maybe even rethink your next swipe,” the team behind the show shared.
