Table Top Mountain Walk reopens

Table Top Works

The Table Top Mountain Walk and other walks on Toowoomba’s eastern escarpment are now open to the public again after the completion of landslip repair works along Table Top Drive.

Toowoomba Regional Council’s Councillor Carol Taylor said the remediation works along Table Top Drive were part of the 2022 Flood Recovery Program.

“Works were completed at two landslip sites on Table Top Drive,” Cr Taylor said.

“The largest of the two sites included reshaping the adjacent bank on the high side of the road, anchoring the slip below the road, and securing the area with shotcrete to protect against future erosion or slips.

“The construction team worked with specialised excavation machinery to assist in minimising impacts around the landslip site.

Cr Taylor thanked the community for their patience while the works were completed.

In addition to Table Top Mountain Walk, the Road Reserve Trail and Stevenson Street Trail have also been reopened.

Funding for the projects was provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
