What’s Happening?
The 2025 Australian Little Athletics Championships will take place from Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 April at SA Athletics Stadium in Adelaide. This national event welcomes athletes aged U13 to U15, selected by their Member Association to represent their state in a team-based format. The weekend also features the prestigious Little Athletics Australia Hall of Fame Ceremony on Saturday night.
Why It Matters
Celebrating more than 60 years of Little Athletics in Australia, the Championships are the pinnacle event for the sport’s junior ranks. They offer a unique team-based national competition, while also recognising the long-term impact of Little Athletics on athletes, volunteers, and achievers across multiple fields. The event highlights values like teamwork, endurance, and determination—skills that prepare young people for success on and off the sporting field.
Local Impact
Toowoomba will be proudly represented on the national stage with three standout athletes selected to wear maroon for Queensland:

Each athlete hails from Toowoomba Little Athletics Centre and will compete for individual medals while contributing points to Queensland’s State Team total.

Events span Able-bodied and Multi-Class categories across the U13, U14, and U15 age groups.

“Coles Little Athletics Australia is thrilled to once again provide our athletes aged U13–U15 the opportunity to participate in the pinnacle event for Little Athletics,” said Myles Foreman, CEO of Little Athletics Australia.
“Unlike other national championships, ALAC has an overarching teams element… while athletes compete for individual rewards, their performances contribute towards the team awards and trophies.”
The Championships foster camaraderie and a strong sense of community among competitors. Coles, a key event partner for the eighth consecutive year, is supplying fresh bananas and other fruit to keep athletes, volunteers and officials performing at their best.
