A Toowoomba man on sick leave received the ultimate cure after he received a call from lottery officials revealing he’d won $2 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

The Darling Downs resident held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4671, drawn Saturday 25 April 2026.

He looks forward to a total prize of $2,055,945.72.

“You’re joking!” he said when an official from The Lott relayed his windfall.

“That’s awesome news!

“I treat myself to a ticket once a fortnight. I almost didn’t bother going through with purchasing the ticket.

“But I’m so glad I did! I would’ve missed out otherwise!

“I’m on sick leave, and I’ve been bed-bound, so this has really come at a great time.

“I can’t wait to tell some of my family members.”

When asked how $2 million would change his life, the Queenslander had one thing in mind.

“I’d like to buy a block of ground!” he laughed. “I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time now.”

His winning 12-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app.
