What’s happening?

A mystery winner in Toowoomba is sitting on a $3.3 million fortune – and they might not even know it.

One of six division one winners nationally in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw 4571, drawn on 10 May 2025, purchased their entry at Campbells News & Casket, 244 Ruthven Street, Toowoomba. Each division one winner took home $3,333,333.34.

The winning entry is registered to The Lott Members Club, yet officials have so far been unable to contact the person holding the life-changing ticket.

Why it matters

This draw has added a new multi-millionaire to Queensland’s growing list of big lottery winners — but that win remains unclaimed. Officials at The Lott have made multiple failed attempts to contact the winner, with the number listed disconnected. If the prize remains unclaimed, it could sit idle for weeks or months, despite belonging to a verified account holder.

Local Impact

The lucky ticket was sold at a long-standing Toowoomba newsagency, Campbells News & Casket, which could now boast one of Queensland’s most fortunate customers. The win has stirred local interest, with residents urged to double-check their tickets if they purchased an entry for draw 4571.

By the Numbers

  • $3,333,333.34: Prize for each division one winner in Gold Lotto draw 4571.

  • 6: Division one winning entries across Australia — 3 from NSW, 2 from VIC, 1 from QLD.

  • 0: Successful calls from The Lott to the winner — all attempts returned disconnected notices.

  • 402: Division one wins nationally in FY25 so far, including 104 for Golden Casket customers.

  • 316: Division one winning entries in 2024 Saturday Gold Lotto draws, worth over $400.2 million.

Zoom In

The Lott’s spokesperson Anna Hobdell confirmed the organisation’s efforts to track down the winner.
“I was ready to reveal the life-enhancing news to the region’s newest division one winner,” she said. “But sadly whenever I called the number provided, it said it was disconnected.”

She added a personal plea:
“You may not think it’s possible you’re the division one winner we’re searching for, but if you purchased an entry into the recent Gold Lotto draw from Campbells News & Casket that you haven’t checked yet, you’re in with a chance!”

Zoom Out

In 2024 alone, Saturday Gold Lotto created 149 new millionaires across Australia. The Lott’s broader portfolio of games — including Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life and others — paid out more than $4.84 billion to over 195.3 million winners.

Additionally, $1.8 billion was returned to communities through state lottery taxes and donations supporting public services like health, disaster relief and education.

What to Look For Next?

The Toowoomba winner still has time to claim the prize, but unclaimed winnings eventually revert to the relevant state’s lottery funds.
Keep an eye on local news updates as The Lott continues its efforts to reach the ticket holder.
If no claimant steps forward, this case could join the list of Australia’s most baffling unclaimed lotto wins.

And if you bought a ticket for draw 4571 from Campbells News & Casket, now’s the time to check it.
