Bringing Warmth to Those in Need
As temperatures drop, the Toowoomba community is gearing up for the annual Winter Warmth Appeal at Grand Central, running from Thursday, 16 May to Saturday, 18 May.
This heartwarming initiative, led by Civic Assist, invites residents to donate winter clothing and bedding to support families and individuals facing tough times during the colder months.
This appeal aligns with similar charitable efforts across Australia, highlighting the nationwide concern for vulnerable communities.
A Simple Gesture with Big Impact
Civic Assist’s mission to provide warmth and comfort is supported by Grand Central, which has set up a mega collection point on Level One, near Myer. “We invite the community to deliver quality pre-loved and new winter clothing and bedding to the redemption booth,” says Community Relations Manager Georgina Bayly.
As an added incentive, the first 50 donors of a large bag of items will receive a $20 gift card to spend at Grand Central.

Extended Support Beyond the Collection Point
While Grand Central serves as a central donation point from 16 to 18 May, the Winter Warmth Appeal continues until Friday, 28 June, with various collection points throughout Toowoomba.
