What’s happening?
Grand Central shoppers in Toowoomba can support LifeFlight by having their Mother’s Day gifts wrapped for a donation.
LifeFlight volunteers will offer gift-wrapping services from Thursday, 1 May to Sunday, 4 May, and again from Thursday, 8 May to Saturday, 10 May inside Grand Central.
Why it matters
This initiative helps fund LifeFlight’s lifesaving aeromedical services. It turns the simple act of gift wrapping into an opportunity to give back to a service that rescues locals during their most critical moments.
Local Impact
The money raised during the Mother’s Day period will directly support LifeFlight’s Toowoomba base. Community Relations Manager Georgina Bayly said,”All money raised through the gift-wrapping station during the Mother’s Day period will support the vital work that is done through the LifeFlight service that serves our community through the most difficult times.”
By the Numbers:
-
905 people were helped by LifeFlight Toowoomba last year, making it the busiest regional base in the network.
-
LifeFlight crews respond daily to emergencies ranging from motor vehicle crashes and farming accidents to search and rescue missions.
-
The gift-wrapping campaign follows a very successful Christmas effort, with volunteers perfecting their wrapping skills in preparation.
